The origin of 50 Cent and Rick Ross’ feud dates back over five years, to a point when both were at vastly different stages in their careers, but the veteran rappers still fire shots in each other’s direction every now and then for sport. And the game was on again on Friday (Nov. 6). As he often does, 50 kicked things off, posting a picture of a shirt that depicts Ross’ naked torso. Boredom will do that to you sometimes.
As 50 Cent continues to go through the proceedings of filing for chapter 11 bankruptcy, his legal team recently turned over 56 pages of financial information that paint a clearer picture of 50's situation. The documents include financial details for his total amount of assets, debts, complete monthly expenses, his mansion, child support, and more.
In total, his current debts are standing at over $32 million, while his assets sit at just over $24 million. In a previous court appearance, 50 claimed that his flashy lifestyle was all fake, though the newly filed court documents shows that he owns over $500,000 in cars, and spends $108,000 a month in expenses. 50 also has to deal with his outstanding child support debt, which currently sits at $855,091 and is something that doesn't go away when you file for chapter 11 bankruptcy. As far as his business ventures go, 50's most valuable is in G-Unit Records, which is currently worth $2.7 million.
Curtis Jackson, aka 50 Cent, appears in Manhattan Supreme Court on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 in New York to testify in a lawsuit about a sex tape he allegedly posted online.
After filing for bankruptcy last week, 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, appeared in a Manhattan Supreme Court on Tuesday morning to testify that he is not as wealthy as his flashy lifestyle makes him appear to be.
While Forbes estimated the rapper's fortune to be about $155 million in May, Jackson's lawyer said in court Tuesday that his client's worth is $4.4 million, which presents a problem after he was hit last week with a $5 million verdict for publishing a sex tape starring rival Rick Ross' ex-girlfriend.
Jackson explained in court that while his social-media accounts may be filled with flashy photos, "I take the jewelry and the cars back to the stores," according to the New York Daily.
When the judge asked the rapper about his 38 million record sales, Jasckon said, "I make 10 cents a record."
Take that. Take that. Take that.
It only took 50 Cent a few minutes to put together a video mocking his rap mogul adversary Diddy -- and it's pretty hilarious.
While managing to promote his vodka line and his cable TV show, Fiddy explains how Diddy is locked up at UCLA because "sh*t got real with the coach!"
50 and Diddy have been going after each other in public for years ... and most of the time it's been pretty funny.
Think Diddy will laugh when he sees this? Or try to hit 50 with a kettlebell (allegedly)?
It’s amazing just HOW MANY hip hop stars have one or both parents with Caribbean roots. We put together a list of all the rappers – who are at least HALF Caribbean)
Eminem is making the transition from music to film & television seamless. This past year Em has executive produced Southpaw, which stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Forest Whittaker & 50 Cent, hitting theaters July 24. And now it’s been announced he’s currently shopping a television series, where he’s executive producing and handling the music soundtrack, titled Narc being filmed in Em’s hometown of Detroit. This TV series will be centered around the 2002 movie by the same title. Joe Carnahan supposedly is also executive producing, writing a pilot script, and directing the series, which makes sense since he was the director of the original movie.
G-Unit is out on the road promotion their new EP The Beauty Of Independence. Stopping by Connecticut's Hot 9.31, Buck, Banks, Yayo and Kidd Kidd, addressed why their new projects don't have guest features.
“I know a lot of [the love] is not genuine... I think a lot of it really is genuine when it comes from the fans,” Young Buck said. “From the artists, nah, I don’t know. It’s like I didn’t see none of you dudes rooting to try to get G-Unit back together when we were not together.”
Buck generally feels that other artists lack the authenticity to get on a Unit record, refusing to name names, but expressing a general hesitation.
With The Beauty Of Independence in stores now, 50 and company have announced a second EP due to release this October with six brand new records. When asked why the group is putting out EP's in preference to a full-length, Lloyd Banks had this to say:
"You might announce your album in January and it might not drop 'til November... What this is doing is—We don’t like to sit on music and all the music we made, the 40 records, we done that in three weeks. So, it’s not no time to fall in love with it. But we want something out there for the people right now.”
Additional topics include Buck connecting with Remy Ma post-prison, million dollar record deals, and more.
In other G-Unit news, the group was recently announced to appear on the cover of XXL's final physical issue.
G-Unit members 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo and Young Buck have reunited for a performance during New York radio station Hot 97's annual Summer Jam event, which took place today (June 1).
The reunion follows comments 50 Cent has made regarding G-Unit members earlier this year.
“Some people, they’re like milk,” 50 Cent says during an interview in March. "They have an expiration date and no matter what you do, they’ll spoil after a while.”
In March, 50 addressed his stance on the group further.
